Programme for each day:
10.00 – 10.30 Pranayama
The First Pranayama of the Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga System will be taught. The mind is naturally in a state of motion, when prana is controlled, the mind can then become more stable and calm.
10.30 - 12.00 Techniques and theory of selected asanas.
Over the 5 days we will progressively work through the asanas of Primary Series.
Provisional programme – this may change.
14th Nov Breathing, bandhas, dristi, surya namaskaras, standing postures
12th Dec Seated postures to Janu Sirsasana C
16th Jan Marichyasanas
20th Feb Bakasana, Bhujapidasana, Kurmasana, Garbha pindasana
20th Mar The last postures of primary series and back bending
12.00 – 1.00 Lunch break
1.00 – 1.30 Talk and Discussion session
A chance for you to ask us anything about the practise !
1.30 – 3.00 Meditation
The basic aspects of seated meditation practises will be introduced. We will
work towards helping you develop your own regular practise. The meditation techniques will be based on Yoga and Buddhist practises.
